I have used collars with previous dogs. Now I have 2 Miniature Schnauzers who are stubborn, like to tug at the leash and bark and will not respond to correction with a flat collar. So I bought 2 small collars (ordered separately) but found that one kept getting tangled and stuck in my dog's slightly longer coat and for my other dog the collar itself was too strict to fix. So I put them on and they solved both problems; On my long haired dog, the rubber tips help with putting the collar on and off and my other dog is no longer afraid of the collar but it still provides adequate correction for her behavior problems. The tips stayed and withstood multiple uses a day. The only thing I've done a little differently, since my collars are the kind of thing you put on and take off when you break the connection (verses like this have a quick release), is that I point to the one connection above did not put the tips to one link went in and out of another link easily.
