Good first impression

RDX Smartie Gloves are a comparable size to RINGSIDE Gel Micro Gloves. I'm a personal trainer and had the opportunity to use it for three hours. My hand is medium sized and while RINGSIDE mittens always feel a bit small for my fingers, the Smartie pads offer a little more room for the length and width of my arms. The Smartie's adjustable wrist strap is perfect as I don't have to strain my wrist flexors to keep the mittens on my hands like I do with the RINGSIDE mittens. Micro Mitts does not have such a strap. The foam padding and hitting surface of the Smartie rubbers ensure a good click. The overall build quality of the RDX Smartie is slightly more affordable than the gel micro hands, but the RDX gloves pack more features for less weight. After two and a half years of use, the Micro Mitts have performed well with thicker leather, tight stitching and a low profile. I'll see how the Smarties hold up over time, but they appear to be an overall upgrade over the RINGSIDE Gel Micro Mitts, with a slight loss in wearability and initial build quality. Gel Micro Mitts are the most wearable gloves I have ever owned. Of course, it never hurts to have different gloves for different types of training.
