When chain oil and other road debris came into contact with the hot pipes, the contents burned. This has always left a rusty/dull appearance on my chrome pipes. and a microfiber cloth I was able to bring back the shine and remove any deposits. This product leaves an almost Teflon-like coating after use. Now when dirt gets on my pipes I just rub it on a microfiber cloth and after a few seconds the problem is gone. I also use this on my Cadillac CTS chrome tailpipes for the same purpose. There is nothing as good on the market.
