I ordered this mount for my van and was concerned that it would stay in the storage position (up), especially on rough roads, I can attest to its positive function Locking this mount in place will keep it on its feet even on the roughest of roads. I suggest you screw on the tilt and pan fittings prior to installation. It's very well built and for the price you can't beat it.
