I think it's an excellent product. I read a lot of reviews about it on the internet that didn't give it rave reviews because it seemed like it was leaking or the impellers weren't spinning. I made a DYI diffuser out of PVC and it is more expensive to make, for the price it works very well and compares so cheaply to DYI even with some simple mods I made to prevent leaks. This is way better than the atmospheric diffuser I used. I feel like I wasted a lot of CO2 with this diffuser and it needs cleaning every few weeks and I broke it at the hose connection. Finally, GLA's atmospheric CO2 diffuser is expensive. First I took it apart and sanded the impeller shaft, removed the plastic drill bit and the impellers spun easily. When I screwed the base back on I used teflon tape to make sure the base didn't leak, do that. I've read reviews that it was leaking from the bottom so teflon tape fixes that. Other leaks are hose attachment points. I used hose clamps to solve this problem. The device comes with good suction cups so I was able to easily attach it to the back of the tank. I think this helps reduce the issues with complaints that it slows down the flow, I noticed they kept it in a stand next to the filter. This will reduce flow but that's fine, I run a large model on a 29 gallon tank with an Eheim 2213 canister filter. The canister may not be enough to drive the reactor size or you are pumping too much CO2. It takes a bit of fiddling to get the bubble speed right. I have about 1 per second and my plants are pearls every night. I see the impellers slow down at the end of the day, so maybe I'm running out of energy a bit or I need to clean the filter. Trapped gas will still diffuse. I turn off my CO2 about an hour before the lights go out and any gas in the reactor will dissipate during that time. The hardest part was getting the air out when installing, but the instructions say turn it upside down and it works. I've done several water changes and never had to refill. I no longer have bubbles in my tank other than plant beading so I get really good CO2 diffusion. I've been using it for a few months now and no leaks (but I use teflon tape and hose clamps - I think any built in device with hose clamps should help). It's small, sprinkles well, great product
