Wanted to wait a bit before checking as many people said it would die off after about 3 months. I've been drinking it for five years now and although I only drink a cup a day on average I'm still very happy with it. I chose this one because it was the only truly compact model with a water tank larger than a cup or two. As others have said, the water tank cap just sits there, it doesn't really snap into place, which is a little annoying but not really an issue. Taste is average, this is a relatively cheap device and you get what you pay for. Be sure to use room temperature soil. I keep mine in the fridge for freshness (I buy in bulk and use K reusable mugs), but now I'm taking my time as the unit doesn't seem to be hot enough to brew a decent temperature mug when the grind is cold. I also noticed that it tasted a little better. There is an option for larger cups though, if you don't like diluted coffee you can really only brew 6 or 8 oz. The way the water flows through the filter is nothing more than that, and it's not really about brewing coffee anymore, just adding extra water to your cup. I'll say this isn't the best cup of coffee in the world, but it's definitely at least average; I'm not a coffee connoisseur and for the price I'm generally quite satisfied.
