Just needed a button, no switch
My relatives have a fan with this model fan controller. Your grip is broken. I couldn't find a replacement knob for it, the waveform seems to be unique to this fan controller, and I haven't found another control knob that works. So I ended up buying a whole replacement switch just to get a grip. There were several pens in different shades of white, so I have spare pens in case one breaks again.
