Review on MICHELIN Energy XM2+ 175/70 R14 88T summer by Stanisaw Borowski ᠌

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Great value for the money, definitely recommended!

Just purchased in March of 2022. About 4000r for each tire (the larger the dimension, the higher the price). I picked from the first-tier brands, and there weren't too many to pick from (about four). When Malaysia started producing Toyo rubber, reviewers noted that it was noticeably different from traditional Japanese Toyo. They don't do a horrible job at writing on Nokian Green, but it wears out quickly. Bridstone and Yokohama are both going into the kiln. As far as Goodyear could tell, I wasn't doing much. Korean Kumho and Hankuk aren't for me, therefore I got rid of my set as soon as I could (despite the fact that there has been some positive feedback on Korean summer tires as of late). Yes, and China already produces some Korean rubber. I recently purchased a set of MICHELIN Energy XM2+ tires in the size 195/60 R15 (2022). Slightly more robust than the Japanese-made Toyo CF2. The MICHELIN Energy XM2+ has lower noise levels. There was previously the Bridgestone Turanza ER300 rubber from Japan, which is rarely held up as a point of comparison due to its terrible hardness and noise. Here's the part I didn't enjoy. There is writing on the tire: XM2 on one side and XM2 + on the other. This is embarrassing and should not be the case. XM2+ stickers are ubiquitous, though. At first I believed they brought the original XM2 because it was so much cheaper than the new XM2 +).

Pros
  • New. It's safe to say that the wall is not frail, as it is both thick and elastic to a certain degree. Hernias should not occur, at least in theory. Reviews of the XM2 indicate that it has a lengthy expected lifespan on foot. The tires are quite quiet, even in my car, which has poor soundproofing (a Hyundai Matrix). The road and the motor noise level both increased dramatically.
Cons
  • Not what I'd call a gentle voice. Soft-spoken Toyo. The term "elastic" is better suited for XM2 +, as is mentioned in previous evaluations here. The pits swallow, but not in a perfectly straight line.
