Review on πŸš€ High-performance Hitachi MAF0035 Mass Air Flow Sensor for Optimal Engine Efficiency by Jason Rogness

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Great MAF for my 2016 Toyota Tundra 1794!

As you can see my pickup has a Volant cold air intake unit - I have nothing to say other than amazing things about this unit and its extra power plus a more aggressive intake growl. I damaged my original Hitachi MAF, all my fault, I allowed too much vacuum in the cold air box to damage the filter and parts of that filter, then ran through and damaged the mass air flow sensor. The valance system is excellent, but I let the air filter get too dirty and also ran the engine to increase power - the dirty filter and extra airflow caused the air filter to fail. There is no doubt about it. If you use such a system, be sure to clean it as directed and may clean it and its filter more often than recommended if you spend a lot of time off-road and/or in high water. I replaced the MAF and valance filter and now everything works LIKE NEW - no problems. I have some good apple compatible bluetooth port diagnostic tools that I can use to track down any problems they can track down - these tools show everything is working as good as ever and in some ways even better. I can wholeheartedly recommend the Hitachi Mass Air Flow Sensor, it is of very high quality, easy to assemble and install and is (I think) also a factory replacement/genuine unit. I also recommend the Volant cold air unit for the Toyota Tundra - for all those years of support. I found it to be a well made unit that actually performs better (in many ways) than the Toyota TRD cold air plenum option. I have used Airraid, TRD and Volant systems on my Toyotas - Airraid was installed on a 2013 Toyota FJ to replace the Toyota TRD airbag assembly I had previously used on the FJ. Airraid recommended the Volant as a great airbox for my Tundra when I bought it. Airraid and Volant are fantastic products. TRD airboxes work, but a premium product often comes at the price of a TRD product - I have usually been unimpressed by TRD quality, fit, tuning and other issues.
