I mix with water and draw. absolutely perfect results. for your information. Use only a small amount of wood mat if using as a grain filler/stain. Basically all you need is some thick colored water. Otherwise, you will wipe most of it off with a damp cloth. (wet rag works better than sanding) The only complaint I have is that it smells really bad. But I just use a fan in front of me and most of the smell goes away
