No physical stop and wrong installation direction. My Thoughts

My 10 year old hates this valve; He can't stop abruptly when he's on, which also confuses her when he's looking for a direction to turn him off. She turns the knob both ways without feeling which way it's turned. Second, there are many complaints about the design of this mixet valve not mixing the water temperature properly. The instructions say to set the valve with the red dot on the plastic temperature knob for up to 12 hours. There is a video on YouTube hosted by The Shack. He better explains the installation of this valve, pre-cleaning, proper mixing with the red dot below at 6 o'clock, lubricating the o-ring, and using just a gentle wiggle of the valve to install the o-ring without closing it to damage. Instead I would follow that. The original valve is available from Home Depot and has a physical stop at full speed with no wander. However, the maximum flow can actually be limited to stop at full power. But I'm concerned about o-ring damage due to the lack of a physical stop. You decide; I personally have the red dot set at 12 o'clock and I'm missing the fine temperature adjustment. If you mostly like spicy foods that tend to burn without warning, maybe the 12-hour high is for you? I haven't tried the 6 o'clock positioning of this valve, so I'm not sure if this valve has a mixing problem, but the original valve, called the Mixet by BrassCraftServiceParts, mixes with a more predictable graduated temperature change rather than a shocking one. sudden flashes of heat and cold, but only when the red dot is set at 6 o'clock. It's unpredictably hot and sometimes scalding with red on 12pm.
