I bought a Lacie Rugged 5TB USB-C Hard Drive because of the impressive performance and price of a branded SSD. However, I gave this review 1 star because the SELLER MADE THE PRODUCT DESCRIPTION WRONG! The product description states that it is a solid state drive called SSD. It also advertises a transfer rate of 510 MB/s. The box I received lists the drive I purchased, including the product number STFR5000800. But the box says 130MB/s transfer speed. hmmmm I hooked it up to the computer, pressed my ear against it, and my heart sank. I could hear the physical drive picking up speed to begin its work. Folks, this is NOT a Solid State Drive (SSD)! An SSD is silent because there are no moving parts in an SSD. I immediately called Revain and they offered to refund and return it or take out a $38 loan. I talked her into a $50 loan and agreed because a $150 brand name 5TB external hard drive is pretty good.
