Perfect! Great box!

I can't praise this case highly enough. I bought it with a 2.5" drive from WD to use specifically to house a new drive so I could clone my Mac drive (previously a unibody MacBook Pro) and replace it with a new hard drive could. The outer case is a single piece of aluminum (not two pieces like a shell). Once attached, the interior is inserted into the one-piece aluminum outer case (along the "rail" inside the case) and secured at one end with two screws. Connection to the computer is via a cable (included) with a mini USB connector on one end and two standard USB connectors, one halfway down the cable and the second on the other end (the cable has two standard -USB ports to ensure you can plug in the drive if your device cannot power the drive with one port (the 2nd plug into another USB port to provide extra sustenance). The drive turned on with no problems the first time. I ran the cloning program on my Mac and then removed the new drive from the case. Then I opened the Mac and inserted the new cloned drive. Everything worked great! Then I put the old Mac drive in the case. It worked the first time too! I now have an old Mac drive running in an enclosure. This case is solidly built, attractive, small, efficient and great value for money. I can't speak for the instruction manual as I didn't even open the plastic bag it came in! Other cases I've bought over the years didn't hold the drive to the board, instead they "rattled" the drive. around the inside, connected at one end by a thin cable. I think the board is the best feature of this item. I am very happy with this product and will definitely buy another one in the future.

Pros
  • Very impressive
Cons
  • For the old
