Does exactly what it takes.

Today everyone knows that you need an offsite backup at a remote location to ensure you don't lose your information if you lose your computer. I learned this lesson the hard way. After my laptop motherboard died, I figured I'd have to pay Best Buy $150 to get the information off the hard drive. After some thorough research on YouTube and Google, I found that I can remove the hard drive and pop it into this thing to deactivate my information and turn my hard drive into an external drive/backup…

Pros
  • Nicely
Cons
  • Compatibility

Well, for the second time, the 1st Corps failed!

The name says it all, as I have no problems with a second eSATA/USB 2.5" SATA HD enclosure from Acomdata. With eSATA in the mix I have up to 140 MB/s However, there is a caveat to be made with this connection method, it seems that this Acomdata system requires the USB system to be connected to the case along with the eSATA cable, so to use eSATA you are also using the USB, presumably for power. Now I have a fairly expensive 3.5" USB/FireWire/eSATA case (about $65 retail) that I use to back up…

Pros
  • Many fit
Cons
  • Some difficulties

Perfect! Great box!

I can't praise this case highly enough. I bought it with a 2.5" drive from WD to use specifically to house a new drive so I could clone my Mac drive (previously a unibody MacBook Pro) and replace it with a new hard drive could. The outer case is a single piece of aluminum (not two pieces like a shell). Once attached, the interior is inserted into the one-piece aluminum outer case (along the "rail" inside the case) and secured at one end with two screws. Connection to the computer is via a cable

Pros
  • Very impressive
Cons
  • For the old
