That was the definition of plug and play. The only real problem I have may not be with the product but with how my computers interact with it. From time to time I have to restart the computer for it to recognize the monitor as plugged in. I already had 2 monitors and my graphics card was not configured for the third monitor. I hooked this up and almost immediately had three monitors to use individually (I don't duplicate them, but I could if I wanted to).
