cheap china hairbrushes

Yes, they shed, especially when used aggressively. I just "comb them out" if that's a problem. Made from real porcelain (not from China) pig bristles. Everything is natural. They are excellent for binding and emulsifying tung oil and beeswax (beeswax + D-limonene). I can usually use a brush more than once but they are very inexpensive and designed to be used and thrown away. They make great pastry brushes and can be brushed with mayonnaise or softened butter. The use cases are endless. For cleaning for cooking or woodworking, I apply dish soap directly to the stubble and massage it in until it lathers well, then rinse with hot water. Catering brushes are stored in saran packs or ziplocked. It may be better to use waxed paper since all plastics release synthetic estrogen compounds that promote cancer and birth defects. I'm too old now to worry about it.

Pros
  • Smooth brushed wood handles and pewter tips
Cons
  • Questionable purchase for seniors
