When I connected this cable to my wife's small Sony CD/Radio it didn't work and I couldn't figure out why as the input voltage is correct. I remembered another review where the author said he had to "shave off" the cord to get it to fit. The cord may be polarized but I believe the power and ground wires were reversed in places and it didn't work right out of the box. I shaved off the square side of the fork and it worked like a charm. I'm not an electrician and I might be wrong, but it worked. What else can you ask. Mom is happy, so the whole world is happy
