This is a lovely addition to my wife's new car and we were both pleasantly surprised at how heavy and well made the cube and crystal are (the weight also helped explain why other reviewers claimed that her chain broke!). So I suggested my wife to try a band instead of a chain for three reasons (actually there are more reasons but I'll explain later): 1). We could make it blue to match the blue crystal (that was a nice touch, btw!).2). The tape will not scratch the rearview mirror mount like a metal chain. 3). The tape didn't snap (we just had to keep an eye on it and replace it when worn). Well the band worked perfectly and gave the pendant an extra nice touch. However, while driving, I noticed that the suspension wobbled in corners, especially under hard braking, which bothered me. I decided to hit the brakes really hard to see what would happen and indeed the suspension was dangerously close to hitting the windscreen! And because of that extra weight I was afraid that if/when the brakes were applied very hard the suspension would most likely hit and damage the windshield! So that brings us to reason number four: 4). The strap can be adjusted in height to find the optimal length! Enjoy!
