To my knowledge, this is the first mainstream lens with image stabilization that Fujifilm has developed to date for either their crop sensor or medium format systems. This is what we call a "close-up lens", not true 1:1 macro photography. And if you want to use that understanding, this is a great lens for that purpose. But I use it for its starting telephoto qualities (full frame equivalent 95mm) and for that purpose it really excels in every way. Very sharp lens. Now I'd like to see a stabilized 135 or even 150 full frame equivalent image (like the Pentax 6X7 300mm I still have) of the same size and weight as this one. Like Wandering Lensman, I wish Fujifilm stabilized all of their prime lenses. This lens proves they can do it when they want to.
