Fujinon lenses have always been considered excellent and this new generation lives up to the expectations with superb detail, color and bokeh. You'll need to get an extension tube to get 1:1 reproduction with this lens, but that's a minor issue for an otherwise great lens.

To my knowledge, this is the first mainstream lens with image stabilization that Fujifilm has developed to date for either their crop sensor or medium format systems. So this lens does not have a flat field of view and angular sharpness at 0.5x magnification. I loved this lens and the Fuji GFX100. I'm a professional macro photographer who needs a detail resolution of at least 100µm (more if I can get 2-5x). The lens (like the Canon 100l or the mpe 65mm) lacked sharpness in the corners. This lens is very sharp, and this quality really shines on a medium format camera! Even wide open this lens is extremely sharp at all angles, it improves somewhat when zoomed in to f/5.6, but the difference is so small that you really have to look very closely at the zoomed image to find it.
