Items are intended for very light mixing only. The piece of metal in the silicone only goes 1/2 through the spatula portion, not all the way through the slot provided for it, and I don't mean all the way to the flexible end. As you mix, fold, and squeeze, this metal rod puts pressure on the silicone and because it's not positioned correctly, it rips a hole in the silicone, making the spatula pretty much useless as breaking it will only make it worse is. I've been using it for 3 weeks now and 2 of them have broken. If they corrected the design it would probably be a better product but for now I wouldn't waste money on it unless you only use them for scrambled eggs.
