Review on Geekstory VK-162 G-Mouse USB GPS Dongle: Reliable Remote Mount Navigation Module with External GPS Antenna for Raspberry Pi, Google Earth, Windows, and Linux by Jeff Rhodes

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Works with Raspberry Pi Zero W.

I really want to thank Oscar for his review. My main goal was to build a time server on an offline LAN and learn how a Linux time server works. I learned how to sync my router, RPis and Windows machine to a Linux time server. VK-162 received the signal very quickly. About 15 years ago I was using several portable GPS units and it took me about 3 minutes to get a signal. There is a Raspberry Pi GPS app that shows satellites, latitude, longitude and time. I installed a basic GPS app first to make sure everything was working. Then I started my time server. There is a lot of readily available information on the web and Raspberry Pi forums about USB GPS dongles. I am satisfied with my purchase, the price and the fast shipping from Geekstory. I had no trouble getting the Raspberry Pi's GPS app to work, and no trouble getting the Raspberry Pi Zero W's time server to work.
