I would have rated it with 5 stars, however, because the stepper driver IC's are soldered to the PCB, expand-ability is limited to what is on the board. This is just my opinion, for example if you want to add a second extruder, you can't. Also, the two Z axis driver outputs are linked e.g. just one signal split and present on both connector (ZMA / ZMB). I believe this is a setback, if you need independently controlled Z axis control. For auto X axis leveling, for example. The sad attempt of contraption of a heatsink mount for the stepper motor chips, is almost unacceptable. A little bit of heat and the heatsink falls off. I went and got heatsink glue to secure them. The heatsink temperature measured on all stepper driver is around 40-50C external, when active. I can't measure the value at the die, but as long as the external measurement is below 85C we're good. The stepper motor driver (TNC2209) work excellent and quiet. With the TFT35 touch screen display, I am not too sure, it takes some time to realize that after a mainboard update (firmware) the TFT persists to use values stored in TFT EEPROM. It is contradicting the Main Board and doesn't make sense. A reset of the TFT will fall back and use the main board settings, but you may have to go through the entire calibration dance. At times I was wondering why the printer would do something else than expected. Of course this has nothing to do with hardware and may be fixed with Firmware.Other than that, I am quite happy with the purchase, although this is the second combo. The first one somehow didn't want to work with the touch screen (Serial Com). However, due to early detection and the awesome return policy, it was exchanged in a snap.
