Review on Single Hand Mixing Valve Ceramic Cartridge by Anthony Cano

Revainrating 4 out of 5

More difficult to install than I wanted but it worked

I have a Grohe Ladylux Pro 12 years old (2009) and it started dripping from the handle. Miraculously I was able to find the installation instructions and with the help of mighty Google found this part here at Revain. The hardest part was disassembling the faucet. I have included photos of the instructions and schematics from my old manual (not the manual that came with the package). There were difficulties (part numbering from the attached instructions): 1) The diagram says a 3mm hex, but actually you need 2.5mm - not much. 2) "Remove the Lever" - after 12 years it was pretty good there. I had to hit it with a rubber mallet - pulling with a vise didn't work either. 4) "Remove setting lever" - it was pretty tight there too. It doesn't come loose and there's no way to tap it (too small). I ended up skipping that step, unscrewing the cartridge (step 5), pulling it out of the faucet, and then managing to get a decent angle on the bubble level to knock it out. Assembling was easier, but it takes a lot of effort. Push the adjustment lever and handle back. The only problem was that I rotated the adjustment lever 180 degrees from what it should have been. So when it came time to attach the knob it didn't fit because it was supposed to be pointing down into the countertop - oops. Remove the adjustment lever (pull it out, didn't use much force this time), turn it 180 degrees, push it back in and HEY it works. Maybe I overtightened the screws in step 5 as the whole thing is tighter than before. I'm not disassembling it to check/repair. I wish you success.

Pros
  • Satisfied so far
Cons
  • I vaguely remember
