So far so good! Installation took about 30 minutes, mainly because each step required a different tool. It would be nice if statement 1 was a list of tools. On a 2006 Ram 1500, the tailgate was always half the weight of the truck. I have back problems so I undid the latch and woke the neighbors when it opened and bounced all the way. Now it's smooth as butter! While this doesn't help with closing, it also smooths out that movement and makes it feel easier to me. I can now close it with one hand in one motion, as walking up I can depressurize, reposition, and complete the closure without dropping it halfway. I wish I had this from day one! Some feedback on wire pinching. Make sure you remove the stopper AND the washer when the flapper has been lowered and screw the bolt all the way back with the upper cable attached. This ensures that the cable is routed in the correct direction and does not twist when closed.
