This Media Remote is not an official trademark of Microsoft but is licensed by Microsoft. The remote works very well, if I compare it with the official Microsoft remote, I can see that this remote does not have a OneGuide button. This is a bit disappointing as this button can perform a simple function that allows you to jump to specific apps or games with a single press. The only other downside I think is that the back button has been moved down above the mute button. I think the back button should have stayed at the bottom next to the directional buttons, slightly to the left. The good thing about this remote is that the button backlights turn off after I would say 2 seconds, so I think it saves battery better than the Microsoft multimedia remote. It has good rubber buttons and the range works well, I can point it at my ceiling and it still accepts my remote input. All in all, I'd suggest that you use this remote when you're not using the OneGuide button and are frustrated with its disappearance, as it gets the job done. 5 star rating if not updated.
