This is one of three magnetic knife holders I own. I like that the least. I would have returned it but I had family circumstances and it was too late to return it when I got home. I think it's a lot harder than it should be. My other light holders hold my heavy knives very well. Although this design is a wide surface, my knives seemed to slide across it. I don't have this problem with my other holders which have two thin magnetic bars that are spaced apart. I gave it to my husband for his tools in the garage. I'm sure it will work fine for this purpose. I don't normally give negative reviews, but having had luck with other designs (which weren't that expensive) thought it was worth mentioning. UPDATE: After my review, the seller contacted me and offered a full refund. I wasn't asked to edit my review but felt it was worth posting. Nowadays it is often not possible to find a company that cares about the buyer and believes in their product wholeheartedly. It's refreshing that despite my rating, they wanted to make sure I was happy. For those of you who like this design and the long length of this magnetic knife holder, this might suit you. And if not, it's nice to know that the company is honest and stands behind their product.
