Review on Enhance Your PC Audio with the Klipsch ProMedia 2.1 THX Certified Computer Speaker System (Black) by Joe Griffin

Here is a review worth reading

Bought these speakers five years ago. Many years ago I was an audiophile and very sensitive to sound quality. The speakers sound fantastic. The subwoofer is really extraordinary. Two years later, my subwoofer suddenly seemed to have blown. In retrospect, however, the problem was the internal amplifier. I bought a second pair. From the start there was a slight humming noise. I thought my old house had a grounding problem. But it was frustrating. A few months ago there was a problem with the left channel gain. At this point I looked through many reviews and found that the issues I had with both sets of speakers are common to this product. Too bad. I came here to post that while researching the issues I found a very simple workaround. Now both sets of speakers work and sound as good or better than ever. I bought a $35 2.1 amp unit from Revain plus a $20 24 volt power supply. The speakers will now begin by simply connecting the speaker wires to the new amplifier. To do this I had to open the back of the subwoofers. Everything was very easy. I will post a link to the amp and adapter. The amplifier has a rotary control for adjusting the crossover frequency of the subwoofer. This is an extremely useful feature. It also has Bluetooth. So maybe you should do what I did before your Klipsch amp breaks. Klipsch makes great speakers, but not great amplifiers. I think that's not surprising. ie=UTF8&psc=1
