When the item first arrived I was pleasantly surprised to learn that it came with 2 sets of 3 different attachments (6 attachments total). The unit looked well built and featured a swivel head that makes it easy to brush in an L configuration and then store in an I configuration where it takes up less space. The device itself has 4 settings: ripple, low, medium and high. We tried them all and quickly found that low is better. The high concentration was too strong and caused irritation (bleeding) of 1 gum. The medium is a bit too strong, but that's how low it was. We found that if you use it with your mouth open, it splashes water all over the place (there's an inverted tip that sprays from the back, which helps prevent water splashing). What worked best for us was flossing with our mouth closed. You can feel where the water is, so it really wasn't that hard. With this method, flossing takes less than a minute, after which the teeth will be free of visible food debris and look like they have just been well flossed. The machine is still easy to load, fill and clean. Time will tell how often cleaning is required. The only downside was that the floss didn't come with a charger (although the cord was included). Luckily we had a spare otherwise we would have had to charge the floss in the room which is not a great thing.
