I needed a mounting disc to use with my phone's suction cup car mount. My dashboard ('07 Scion tC) has a ribbed texture that prevents smooth suction cups (designed for glass) from sticking. I couldn't find a mount with soft, sticky gel suction cups, so I went with this semi-permanent solution. The mounting lever began to loosen the adhesive and the disc began to lift from behind. Here's something interesting: The adhesive didn't come off where the tape touches the dash, no, it came off where *the tape touches the mounting disk*. So if the split continued, I would have received a dashboard with mounting tape glued to it and a separate plastic disc. I was able to fix the problem by simply applying some superglue to the growing gap with a thin toothpick. between the adhesive tape and the mounting disk. After that, the tape was hardened and the disk was no longer separated. Note that I also use windshield sunscreen when parked in direct sunlight. It's been about a year since I installed the drive and it still works perfectly. NOTE: If your mount's suction cup is 70mm wide, you should purchase a larger 80mm Arkon mounting disc as these discs have a rough, textured edge a few millimeters wide. and they don't pair well with smooth suction cups. Thus, the actual smooth surface of the slab is slightly smaller than the actual width of the slab.
