This was the second pet ramp I have ordered. I had to return the first one (SolveIt brand) because it was complete junk for the same price. All other ramps except this one were sandpaper which cut into my dogs paws and gave them no grip to climb. Smarter designed, the PetSTEP is made of rubber with horizontal ribs that allow your dog to climb easily and not slide. It also has protection on the sides and offers a good width. My dog, who has just had knee surgery, was having trouble climbing into my Toyota Highlander and this ramp really helped her gain confidence in driving. It comes with a 5-year warranty and doesn't look like it's planning to give it up any time soon. I mounted it (170 pounds) and it seemed very stable to me. I've seen people complain about the weight and size, but it's no bigger or heavier than the first ramp I ordered - just much better quality. All in all a good product that your dog can use for a long time.
