The need for this OBDII cable was a bit idiosyncratic for me - I have an app that works very carefully for car diagnostics, but it requires 1) Bluetooth connection to an OBDII adapter and 2) some type of internet (cellular data or WiFi). What I encountered were those awkward moments where I had to move my phone to get clear cellular or wifi coverage, while STILL getting a Bluetooth connection with an OBDII adapter deep under the dash! This cable allows the adapter to sit high - it could even be outside of a car window or sunroof - so I can determine the coverage area of the phone. It worked really well and the connectors seem to be of good quality - so it's part of my old car kit now. The price seems reasonable. . I wouldn't mind if the cable was a bit longer, but that might limit the signal.
