Absolutely Love These Ratchets

I have a pretty good selection of sockets that I have obtained from one place or another over the years. I have always wanted to buy a full set of SAE and Metric Sockets. What I didn't have was decent ratchets for the several drive sizes that I have. It's a hodgepodge collection.I do a lot of woodworking, but lately, since we have moved to 4 acres in the woods from a regular building lot in a big city. My duties and chores have changed abruptly. Our property is on a 2,000 acre lake and we have about 700' of shoreline. In the center is a private canal that comes about 150 yards into the center of our lot. A long time ago, a previous owner had placed a galvanized steel outbuilding at the lake end of our canal. I have no idea why someone would do this in a humid environment, but they used nuts and bolts to assemble the DIY project.I have already stripped out 2 really low end ratchets that I had and didn't even have one for my 3/8" drive sockets. When I saw these, I immediately knew I was going to be able to take this ugly thing down after several month of looking at it.The nuts that were on about 35% of the bolts were frozen. I started at one end and sprayed each rusted bolt with a liberal amount of WD40. There were several sizes of nuts used. Luckily in my hodgepodge collection of sockets, I was able to match them all. These ratchets are SOLID, WELL - BUILT and exceed the quality of my sockets by a mile. I used the 1/2" on the larger bolts and the 3/8" on the smaller bolts. I was able to loosen every bolt with some effort, elbow grease and some great leverage from these ratchets. The Quick-release feature and reverse ratchet settings have a smart design and are easy to operate and access. Push a button and your socket comes loose.I absolutely love these ratchets and would recommend them to anyone who ons sockets. Chances are, you may have the same experience that I have had where the quality of these Quick-release Ratchets exceeds the quality of your sockets. They are a GREAT Value for their price.5 Star Product

Pros
  • Good heavy set, pro type.
Cons
  • The quick-release system is unreliable, with sockets frequently falling off mid-use and causing frustration and potential injury
