I've used these types of boosters before and haven't had brilliant performance. They worked great for what I wanted. I was able to use 2 18650 batteries to boost the voltage to 36 volts to power an LED strip that I wanted to convert to battery powered. I was able to adjust the power to 38 volts. I don't know if others will go that high as I only expected 35 volts. Regardless, it works fine and doesn't get hot since I'm only drawing milliamps of current. They're back on my shopping list if I need amps in the future.
