I've always used these clip-on collars. This size is my preference. Fewer is actually easier to activate, therefore fewer patches are needed, resulting in much faster learning. My puppy Mal gets all excited when he's off the hook. He enjoys "working hours" and seems a bit snotty knowing I didn't have to use much or at all. A smart but true example of how effective it is to give the dog the choice to act or obey and quickly develop good behavioral habits. Works just as well on large and older dogs too. BUT on the first use or two, expect to get a temporary rebuttal followed by a real "do your curator" feeling of behavior changes that will go on without them and quickly become permanent! (Well, as long as you're disciplined in your team expectation order!) Oh, did I mention these things are incredibly durable.
