Review on Samsung Odyssey 27" Curved Gaming Monitor with FreeSync, QHD 2560x1440P Display and Adaptive Sync Technology by Rey Gordon

The perfect 1440p gaming monitor!

Bought this monitor to replace my old Acer 3D monitor. The 3D feature on the monitor should tell you how long it has been since I bought the monitor. So I expect a good longitude from this monitor. I've only had it 4 days so I'll leave that part for now. I now consider myself a hardcore gamer as I spend 60-90 hours a week gaming. Going to 1440p was great, games look a lot better but I quickly found that my 1070 couldn't play all my games on ultra settings, but visually it still looks amazing. I don't play competitive games now, honestly I don't care. So it might influence some for this review. But for me as a single player, this monitor had no issues with tearing, lag, flickering, or ghosting. The monitor is 144hz but I ran all my games on the highest settings, I got lucky when I got over 100fps, most of my games stayed at 60-80fps. Some even dropped to 30 or 40 so I want to reiterate that I'm not a competitive player so it didn't affect me. So, of course, all the positive things I just said, this monitor can work without any problems. The HDR on it is okay, but I wasn't expecting much and it's not a feature I'd use anyway. The VESA mount is now compatible with the G5, but make sure you use the rubber washers that came with the monitor arm when using this. When I first tried to install this the 75x75 placement made it difficult due to the round back. So the rubber washers helped lift it up a bit so the VESA mount was perfect. Now I had no dead pixels, another plus for this monitor, and backlight bleeding was barely noticeable to me, so another plus. The 1000r curve was totally fine with the loss of 3D for me as I'm in the minority that loves 3D games along with 3D movies. But after seeing the curve and how it works, losing this feature doesn't bother me at all. Overall I'm very happy with this monitor especially since I was able to get it for $200 I don't know of any 1440p 144hz that you can get at that price so this monitor can give me more than 5 years at the moment, I'll recommend anyone who isn't a competitive player to take it.
