It's not sized for people with edema, or very fat legs, if you are using it for compression socks/stockings. I bought it for a friend, but he threw away the box, so it can't be returned. The problem is most likely the compression stockings, and the fact that this is sized for 'normal' ankles and legs. We went to a specialty store, where they had one for wide legs w/edema, and that one is too difficult to use with compression stockings.I tried this one myself, though I don't need it, I'm quite limber. I put a regular sock on it, and it worked great as I put my toe in, and pulled it up. It should work for regular sock and stockings, but don't try it with compression socks unless you save the box, just in case it doesn;t work for you, either. It's well-designed and sturdy, just not usable for what we needed.
