My eight year old goes to Catholic school in full clothing for Friday mass. This also includes some days when children may be in dress uniform twice a week depending on other scheduled religious celebrations. During the weekday boys can wear "all black sneakers" that save them from "dress shoes". No chance. I bought dress shoes every 3 months because of course they are kids and kids play in the shoes they wear and most dress shoes are not made for running, jumping and climbing. These shoes are just right. I bought them earlier this year and they still look great. At this point I would have looked through 2-3 pairs of lace-up shoes or jumpsuits that they sell here, say, at JC Penny for over $30. That's between $70 and $90 by the end of the year. It's $54 plus some changes. I use some shoe polish once a week and the shoes conform to the school uniform standard. The outsole is made of durable rubber and is thicker, almost like work boots, and will not separate from the upper. And as far as I can tell, the scratches show no white. If you have bought other children's shoes, you know what I am talking about.
