The Subaru manual specifically says you can't put anything on the windshield if you have sight, and since we bought two Subaru mainly because we need sight, I don't want to risk the functionality. This mount is great for mounting our DVRs on a mirror pole rather than the windshield, keeping the DVR out of range of the Eyesight cameras. Installing it on my Crosstrek was easy. Since my wife's Outback has the headlight sensor already mounted on the mirror mount, it was a little tricky to get it right, but it worked out in the end. The kit includes adapters that fit a variety of DVRs. One of our dashcams fell off after a few days, but a dab of glue (between the adapter and the camera) fixed the problem. I would recommend these mounts to anyone who doesn't want to mount anything directly to the windshield.
