I was so doubtful but so glad I decided to give it a try. This review is for the LARGE version of the rug (4.6 x 6.6), I'm not sure if the same is true for the smaller one (the drawing is less detailed there etc.). An accent to the room and as a first aid to protection from pet hair & co. To be honest I was mentally prepared to receive an inferior rug that didn't look like the real thing and send it back. So I ordered both this rug and a real cowhide leather one from a local shop (it's still on the way). Now I think I'll cancel the real thing and grab an extra one here (just in case). First, even up close it looks very similar to the real thing (of course you'll know it's a fake if you look really close). Don't think there is room for improvement here. I am very grateful to whoever designed this rug for taking the time to mimic natural color patterns and irregularities. That is the main reason why the product looks so good. Other rugs I've seen have a very generic approach to dyeing, so even from a distance the patterns look wrong, wrong, wrong. There is probably a little more shine on this rug than on real skin, but since they are also shiny, that doesn't spoil the impression. Also, real cowhide leather can have long or shorter hair, so there is nothing unusual here, it looks short-haired. Very nice brown suede lining and soft fur reminiscent of rabbit fur. In addition, it was well packaged and had no severe creases. In general I am very satisfied, did not expect such quality. Fully justifies its price. PS: If you're expecting a thick 0.5 inch rug, you're not! It's just a little thicker than regular cowhide leather, so check your expectations.
