I tried to solve this problem by just running the shower, the plug plunger falls and blocks the water for a minute after showering. A critical design flaw is the lack of a mechanism to hold the chrome lid up to allow the water hole to remain open and allow water to drain. It really seemed to me that nobody had ever tried to use it in a real shower, how could it even work? I tried different positions of the chrome cover, different heights of the black insert. Same problem. There is no suggested solution for this in the manual. Finally when you get your way and keep showering while standing in the filling tub. Eventually the whole assembly floats and drains the water. It doesn't even work like a cork. It's a piece of junk.
