I definitely recommend buying, I didnt notice any disadvantages.

Shooting at 1.4 is very demanding on the level of the carcass autofocus system. For crop up to f2, sharpness will not be enough.

Especially for those whocomplain about focusing accuracy: the lens only affects the speed, while the accuracy depends entirely on the carcass. If you want tocomnsistently get into focus at 1.4 - 1.8, fork out for a camera with professional autofocus. I didn’t have a single defective one on the D700 for 5 thousand frames.

Beautiful blur zone. Quiet and fast enough focusing for such aperture. Excellent balance of lightness and quality. Price

Cons

The picture lacks character. Strong vignetting in the open (not a minus for me at all).
