Review on Fred 5228955 Silicone Infuser PURRTEA by Sonya Dunn

Pretty but not suitable for making tea :(

I really wish I would like it. Like a happy sloth plunging into a hot tub. Reminded me really reminiscent of Japanese snow monkeys bathing in natural hot springs. This new item: you have to fill it almost to the brim of your mug to properly submerge it to the top of the holes near its waist.Personally, I avoid putting the mug like that to fill full it would spill if i tried to hold it the main issue is the design as the little paws hold it up i think the torso should be a bit longer or something i skipped and my sloth Let it sink completely to make sure I get the most of it... Infusions, unfortunately that wasn't strong tea either, just tasted like water . I'm so sad. It's amazing but not functional at all for the purpose I needed. Especially for spending $10 on it. So I processed the return. Instead I decided to be boring and instead ordered the Schefs Premium Tea Infuser - Stainless Steel - Single Cup - the perfect loose leaf tea infuser THAT IS ABSOLUTELY PERFECT. I highly recommend it if you are a tea snob and want a cup of good strong tea. This one has holes all over, holds plenty of loose tea, snaps securely to close the lid, has a hook to attach to the rim of the mug and is perfect for a travel mug so you can brew and keep hot before use. . . Most importantly, it makes delicious tea. I started this quest to make Mei from the mass produced Cruz De Malta 1/2 Kilo Yerba Mate (next time I get a full kilo I accidentally ordered this smaller one. Yes I am so addicted to matte).

Pros
  • High marks for hold and durability from testers
Cons
  • Not as thick as the other options
