Review on LBW Adjustable Stand Up Paddle Board Paddle - 3 or 4-Piece Floating Portable SUP Kayak Paddle for Water Sports by Jarrett Love

Fits backup paddle

I wasn't looking for a backup - I think that's what the OEM paddle that comes with the paddleboard is really designed for. I was looking for a small upgrade; a double-sided paddle for sitting *and* standing (does such a beast exist?). I discovered (before I was smart enough to bring a spare wheel) that I like to paddle "kayak-style" on my SUP since I spend about the same amount. Since I'm standing I spend a lot of time sitting (I paddle several hours a day) so I started looking into these reversible paddles. A lot of them are ridiculously long so I decided to give this one a try as it seemed like a reasonable length to me. Yes, *if* I *only* sit down to row. When I stand up, I have to lean back and forth to lower the paddle into the water. It throws me off balance and that's not good. I also found that the adjustable locking mechanism sits *exactly* where I want to place my hand. It turned out to be about a foot shorter for real seating comfort) and about 18 inches too small for me to stand and paddle properly. . Grab burrs that need trimming and grinding, jagged pipe edges that can scratch or cut your hand, and *real* plain blades with no reinforcing attachments. Although the angle is decent. It's impossible to remove blades if you do that. I noticed that there are plugs on the ends of the blades to keep water out, but if they fail the water will stay inside and it will last a while. so that they expire completely. If I were going to leave it, I would secure these plugs with silicone caulk - use a dowel close to the right size, wrap the end with plastic or plastic wrap, add a large spoonful of silicone and press in place. Plug it in and plug everything into the connector. I got this on sale and it had an extra coupon - I paid $37.99. If I were looking for a cheap replacement I would most likely leave this one and give credit. Since I don't need a replacement, I'm sending it back.
