These work well in a pinch as they're the only thing you can rely on. The magnet in them, while strong, is not strong enough to easily stick to most walls. As you move your hand from left to right, up and down, you don't feel much force or resistance when you're near a drywall screw. If this product could get a stronger magnet, it would be even more useful in my home theater installation tool bag. I currently use them to mark studs for conduit box cutouts as well as marking stud brackets. Save masking tape!
