It's been a week. Yes, some coffee is wasted after each grind - maybe around 1-2% of the total. That's to be expected, so I'm not sure what people are complaining about. I haven't noticed any static electricity or similar issues. I grind my coffee on a kitchen towel, so cleaning it is like shaking the towel over the sink. It takes about a minute to clean the unit after each grind to save some of the coffee still inside, as well as give it a little brushing with the brush provided. This coffee grinder costs about as much as I could find. It is very easy to use and the range of fine grinds is excellent. Update: I have two now as I have two locations. I might be the only idiot (especially in the morning before I've had my coffee) but everyone else tries to put their beans in the top compartment but forgets to remove the top cap because it's see-through and not easy to see (again, especially in the morning)? After doing this at least twice (don't want to admit it could be more) and spilling coffee beans all over the counter and floor, I had an easy fix - see point on cover. I was motivated by how painful it really is to find and collect all those beans that I spilled (again, especially in the mornings). ), then it actually gets stuck and almost impossible to remove. Do not do that.
