I'm so glad I found this Sanus 18" center speaker stand! In other home theaters I've had, I've always had a TV in the entertainment center, so there was a shelf to place the speaker channel above or below the tv. I just finished my new home theater and my tv is hanging on the wall so there was no room for the center channel. With this new center channel stand the speaker sits in the 18" height recommended by audiophiles perfectly above carpet. This is a very nice addition to your home theater and will add style and personality to your room. You can lift the front of the speaker and guide it to where you sit with the included threaded studs and the studs are covered to avoid scratching the speaker. I was afraid the speaker would slide off the back of the stand, but the rubber on the back holds even a heavy speaker securely. My center channel is about 4 inches wider on either side than the rack's top shelf, and it's still solid. This is a very well designed shelf and Sanus has thought of everything. It is made from powder coated steel so is quite heavy when in good condition. how it will support the weight of your speaker. The legs are wide and evenly distribute the weight, and the spikes keep the stand securely in the carpet. I had no problems with the instructions. I have read them a couple of times and followed step. I don't feel the need to add sand to the feet as the stand is heavy initially, but it's nice to have the option if needed. Installation took about 30 minutes but is fairly easy. I've looked everywhere and this stand is perfect and the price is fair for what you get.
