I wore them as pajamas for the first time on a recent camping trip. On the second night of the trip, the minimum temperature was 30 and the temperature was 27. In my duvet over the sleeping mat, these long underwear kept me warm. I wore the pants under lightweight hiking pants for the first 7 miles of the 13 mile hike that followed. Temperatures were in the 40's. I was quite comfortable and didn't feel too hot, although I get warm quickly on hikes. I'm 5'7", 155 lbs, long torso and ordered a medium size. The top is long enough to be tucked into the waistband. It's not a lack of upper, it's just my reality as someone who has a long torso. I really like these pants and would order a second pair if needed.
