Review on Enhanced Connectivity: Belkin Ethernet + Power Adapter with Lightning Connector (Mfi-Certified for iPad POS Systems) (B2B165bt) by Bernard Her

[Updated] Ethernet + PoE and Lightning charging

I wanted to use this device for two functions: 1) Uploading large files from my 256GB iPhone 7 Plus which I use for video and photo taking. (Holiday media accumulates so quickly!) 2) Connection to networked systems for testing and also to charge the iPhone if I forgot my charger. (I work in networking, so PoE switches are more common than Lightning cables.) Unfortunately, on the network connection side, the adapter doesn't work very well. The connection is stable, but the bandwidth is limited. I've tried opening the Belkin Connect app to update the firmware, but it says the firmware (listed as v1.3.10.0AEB471F, "First Release Firmware") is up to date. [Update] After further testing with other speed test websites and between my iPhone and my NAS on my local network, I found that the device can actually transfer data faster than 12.5Mbps. I was able to stream data from two other speed test sites at around 60Mbps each. More importantly, I was able to transfer data to and from my NAS at around 200Mbps. Pros: * Ethernet connection works * PoE works * Lightning fast charging works. iOS 13.3 [see update on some sites]* While faster data transfers are possible, it is not clear why there are speed fluctuations when using this device.
