This is more of a wish than a necessary purchase to complete the look of your desk/computer. Any headset stand will do, but the LEDs, sound quality, and solid construction of this stand make it worth the price. The stand is made of metal and has a certain weight. The entire bottom is covered with a non-slip cover. The combination of these two aspects keeps this stand in place and you don't have to worry about it tipping over or sliding across your desk. The LEDs look beautiful and have many color and display options with the iCue software. You can customize individual sections of lights, flashing patterns, and color schemes. It can be fully customized to your preferences. The only thing that bothered me is that after connecting and updating the drivers, the docking station can be set as an audio output. When this happens, your speakers or headset will stop producing sound. You need to go into the system sound settings via the control panel and disable the device for sound. I'm not sure how this affects audio used with a 3.5mm jack, but if you have a headset plugged into the charging cradle's USB port, it may not play without the device disconnect in the audio settings. This was a very simple fix, but it took me a minute to figure out what the problem was.
